Royan, a privileged site,
at the entry of the Gironde

Royan is a lively, modern, year-round resort which is forward-looking, whilst already having about two centuries of history of sea bathing behind it.

Royan, a privileged site, at the entry of the Gironde, and at the beginning of this new 21st Century, Royan is a lively, modern, year-round resort which is forward-looking, whilst already having about two centuries of history of sea bathing behind it.

When thinking about your next holidays, visiting the region for the first time or even after many years of holidays in the area, you'll certainly want to know a little more about the most famous sea resort of the Charente-Maritime. For English people who wish to integrate into French society

A new club in 2008 (July & August) for English people who wish to integrate into French society, speak easily with native speakers and understand French TV and films. It will be run by volunteers as a not-for profit organization to keep the membership fees as low as possible and the classes will be taught by a French native who has over 20 years experience in ESL ( English as a second language). A 2-hour class using mainly everyday conversation role-play sheets will be held twice a week as soon as we have located a suitable room in Epargnes or its area. The aims of the classes are to improve your ability to speak French, expand your vocabulary, increase your knowledge of French culture and customs and give you confidence in using French for your needs and eventually feel "at home" in Charente Maritime.
