Autumn on the Atlantic Coast
The autumn weather is particularly favourable for a relaxing
weekend or an even longer visit for those who have the time to spare.
Generally, September, October have very favourable holiday
conditions as shown in these photos taken by October in
Saint-Palais-sur-Mer.
There are dozens of people bathing on the beach and the parasols are
back again.
Afternoon temperatures often exceed 25 degrees.
For both French and foreign
tourists, the Tourist Office (Maison du Tourisme) is a good place to
start to get the necessary information to take advantage of this
peaceful period and to discover the wealth of the region.
There are many
tourist leaflets available and these have improved a great deal recently.
The staff at the reception are there to answer all your questions and
supply information on current events in the region.
Most
of the cafes and restaurants are open, in town as well as on La Grande
Côte, where the sunsets are absolutely free to see.
The shopkeepers have more time now to talk and joke with their customers
and there is a more leisurely atmosphere than at the height of the
season.
Please, don't miss the sunsets on La Grande Côte, which are
particularly magnificent when they form a background against the
breaking waves.
